Résumés, Portfolios, CVs, and Cover Letters

The sole purpose of a resume, portfolio, CV, or cover letter is to land you an interview. These documents showcase the skills you have and highlight your accomplishments. To get started, check out our resources and templates below. Our templates are applicant tracking system (ATS) friendly to ensure your documents are being properly screened online. Please note, most Word, Google Drive, and Canva templates are NOT ATS friendly at this time, and may be hurting your chances on online applications.

Each document should be tailored to the opportunity you are applying to. Be sure to review your documents multiple times, and have others look at it too. Whether you are creating your first resume, or have a developed document please feel free to set up an appointment with us or send an email (careerservices@smumn.edu) to get connected. We are happy to answer any questions you have!

Unfortunately even one spelling/grammar error can cause your application to be rejected. You can sign up for an appointment with the writing center (Winona & SGPP) to review your documents as well!
